Adele’s New Album Will Not Be Available On Streaming Services

Adele’s highly anticipated sophomore album ’25’ will not be made available on streaming services. The album, to be released today, will not be available on Spotify, Apple Music, or Tidal. It was announced earlier this week in the New York Times.

This comes on the heels of Taylor Swift’s battle this summer with Apple Music and her refusal to allow her smash album ‘1989’ to be streamed on Spotify because of the shockingly low pay-per-play rates on these services. Beyonce waited at least a year to release her last album ‘Beyonce’ to streaming services. Rates are sometimes less than one cent per play.

This current album from Adele is one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year and Adel’s holding it from streaming only serves to make it a little more exclusive, thus increasing her profits.
