The Kansas City Royals are now 2015 World Series Champions. It took 12 innings take Game 5, but the Royals beat out the New York Mets by a score of 7-2, breaking the hearts of Mets fans.
In the bottom of the 12th, Wade Davis, the Royals’ dominant closer, entered the game and struck out Lucas Duda and Travis d’Arnaud. Michael Conforto sliced a single to left field.
The amazing and dramatic season ended for the Mets with shortstop Wilmer Flores striking out by looking at a 95 mph strike.
