Terrorist Attacks In France

Paris, France – The city of Paris was the target of multiple terrorist attacks on Friday. In a coordinated and synchronized effort, the city suffered multiple gun shot and bomb attacks on Friday, including outside the Stade de France as France played a soccer match against world champion Germany, the Bataclan concert venue, and several restaurants.

Currently it has been stated that more that 125 people were killed and possibly 300 critically injured. Attackers gunned down innocents with AK47 rifles, some yelling “This is for Syria!” in some instances. and 7 of 8 terrorists detonated suicide bombs of the 8 that died. France is investigating the attacks as the president of France has shut down the country’s borders. The country is currently in a state of emergency.

President Barack Obama on Friday condemned the Paris terror attacks, calling them an “outrageous attempt to terrorize innocent civilians” and pledging the U.S. government’s assistance to France.

“This is an attack on all of humanity and the universal values we share,” Obama said in a statement delivered in the White House Briefing Room. “We stand prepared and ready to provide whatever assistance the people of France need to respond.”

As of this writing, ISIS has claimed responsibility for the Paris attacks.
