After signing a new deal with his home team Cleveland Cavaliers worth over $100 million, hoops superstar LeBron James took 5,000 kids and their families to an amusement park this week according to TMZ Sports.

The trip was part of King James’ “I Promise” initiative, 5,000 kids and their families spent the day at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. James teamed up with Chase Bank to fund the day’s festivities, which also offered an opportunity for a one-on-one sit down with James.

The “I Promise” initiative was created as part of a program to give children in James’ hometown of Akron a chance at a free college education if they excel in the classroom.

“It’s an honor to work with a wonderful, dedicated group of people who provide so much to Northeast Ohio – and we’re happy to provide a ‘Best Day’ experience for their program families here at the park,” a rep tells TMZ.
