Meghan Markle ‘signed voiceover deal with Disney’ in hint at career plans

Meghan Markle signed a voiceover deal with Disney in return for donations to an elephant charity, according to reports.

The voiceover was recorded before the couple left for their six-week Christmas break in Canada, The Times reported.

The paper said the charity is Elephants Without Borders, an organisation that helps to protect wildlife from poachers.

The news has emerged following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s announcement this week to step back as senior royals, become financially independent and split their time between the UK and North America.

Their official site states plans to adopt a “new working model,” which will include earning a “professional income” while expanding and continuing work with their charitable organisations.

Meghan was previously a successful actress, pulling in an estimated six-figure salary for her role in Suits.

Neither Buckingham Palace nor Disney have responded to requests for comment.

The couple’s bombshell statement on Wednesday rocked the royal family and was said to have left the Queen and other senior royals “hurt”.

Urgent meetings began on Friday after directions from the Queen and other senior royals.

It is understood the meetings are “progressing well”, with Harry and Meghan reportedly hoping talks over their future roles can be concluded “sooner rather than later”
