Last week, nine-year-old Riley Morrison was on the Under Armour website trying to buy a new pair of shoes when she discovered that the ones she wanted—Steph Curry‘s signature Curry 5’s—were only available in boys’ sizes. Disappointed, she wrote a letter to the NBA legend, asking why he didn’t offer girls’ shoes. And to her surprise, Curry responded with an apologetic handwritten note, which he shared on Twitter Thursday.

“Unfortunately, we have labeled smaller sizes as ‘boys’ on the website. We are correcting this now!” wrote the Golden State Warriors’ point guard, who noted that he was working with Under Armour to correct the problem and captioned the post, “Appreciate you helping us get better Riley!”

The dad of three has been vocal in the past about empowering his own daughters, Riley, 6, and Ryan, 3. In an interview earlier this year, he said, “I want our girls to grow up knowing that there are no boundaries that can be placed on their futures, period.”

That’s something that Riley, a self-proclaimed Warriors fan herself, touched on in her original letter. She wrote, “I know you support girl athletes because you have two daughters and you host an all girls basketball camp.” She added that she hoped he could fix the issue in time for hew basketball season, because “girls want to rock the Curry 5’s too.”

Her request has been answered, as the shoes are now listed in the girls’ section of the Under Armour website. Curry also sent the young fan her own pair of Curry 5’s so she can “wear [his] kicks proudly” and invited her to attend a special event with him on International Women’s Day next spring.

Plus, she will be “one of the first kids” to get the Curry 6’s, which will come out on Christmas Day. An Under Armour representative confirmed that the new line will also have sizing options for both boys and girls, thanks to Riley.
