LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL – Toronto FC beat the Montreal Impact 4-3 in Group C play night at the MLS is Back tournament at the ESPN Wide World of Sports at Disney World.

The match started with 5 goal in the first half, including a brace for Ayo Akidela in the first half, plus add another for the hartick in the second half. Montreal showed us well in the first half with goals by Saphir Taider and Romell Quioto to keep pace.

Montreal got a last minute penalty kick because of a Toronto hand ball in the box. Taider drilled the ball in easily at the 90+5 mark.

The initial scoring started early, when the Red’s Richie Laryea managed to charge into the penalty box, shit to the right and blast one in at the 8 minute mark.1-0 Toronto.

Montreal equalized in the 14th minute when Emanuel Maciel put Romell Quioto in on goal with a perfectly placed ball over the top, and Quioto drove it through to the back of the net. Montreal 1 Toronto 1.

Toronto came back in the 25th minute when Akinola put in a perfect cross from Pozuelo for a 2-1 Red’s lead.

The tide changed again when Chris Mavinga was whistled for a penalty kick by referee Jair Marrufo for a challenge on Quioto in the box, allowing Saphir Taider to equalize from the spot. 2-2.

Seconds later, Akinola slid behind the Impact backline immediately after the restart and cashed home his second of the evening off yet another feed from Pozuelo, giving the Reds a 3-2 lead. They wold take that lead into the half.

Akindola would turn that brace into a hat trick in the 83rd minute when Akindola got free on the right side and put in another goal.4-2 Toronto.

Montreal’s 90+ minute PK was a last ditch effort, but there was nothing goin after that.

The 4 points gives Toronto a lead in Group C with 4 points, but Dc United and the New England Revolution face off this weekend for more group play.

Montreal next faces DC United on July 21st at 10:30pm, and Toronto faces New England on the same date in the       9am game.
