Magic fall to Spurs 102-89 as “The process” continues
ORLANDO, FL – The Orlando Magic lost it’s 4th straight home gave last night with a 102-89 score against the San Antonio Spurs. It’s the Magic’s 10th game of the season, but they have yet to win on the Amway Center floor.
San Antonio came into Orlando ready to play, and Dejounae Murray and Keldon Johnson both finished with double doubles in score, both scoring 20 points and having 14 and 11 rebounds.
Orlando was lead by a strong effort by Cole Anthony, who scored 21.
The big story for Orlando numbers-wise was turnovers. 18 turnovers leading to 17 Spurs points. But their effort so far this season has been strong. They don’t wait.
“The one thing I think we are doing is we are playing extremely hard.” Said Anthony. ” I think we are doing a better job of picking up guy’s tendencies and focusing on the scouting report so that we cannot give these dudes the shots that they want. It hasn’t translated to the wins yet, but you have to look at the positive sometimes. Defense has been a positive for us so far.”
This is one more step in the process of the young team growing through being in the fire, handling tough situations, and learning how to play together.
It’s a slow and sometimes ugly road, but they have the talent to be special.
You just have to trust the process.
The Magic face the Utah Jazz at the Amway Center on Sunday November 7th at 6pm.
