A 9 year-old by the name of Patrick Mahomes II offered a prediction of SB XXXIX picking against Tom Brady, stating, “Eagles are the better team.” We know what happened, Tom Brady went on to win his 2nd straight Super Bowl and former Eagles coach, now Chiefs coach was looking for his first Super Bowl win.

Little did Reid know, the 9 year-old who picked against Tom Brady would be the key to him winning his first Super Bowl Championship as a head coach. Not only that, but that he will also the key on their quest to win their 2nd Super Bowl, this year against now Buccaneers QB Tom Brady.

After the Chiefs found themselves down 9-0 to the Bills early in the first quarter, it’s as if they flipped a switch and never looked back. Kansas City proceeded to go on a 38-6 run, effectively crushing any chance of a Bills comeback. Once the clock hit zeroes, there was no doubt what the story line going forward would be for Super Bowl LV, old vs new.

It’s not all roses for Reid, Mahomes and the Chiefs. Across from them, they face Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay, will be the first team in NFL history to play the Super Bowl in their own stadium.

“Being able to go up against one of the greatest, if not the greatest quarterback of all time in his 150th Super Bowl, I mean it’s going to be a great experience for me”, said the Chiefs signal caller after the AFC Championship Game.

For the 2nd straight year Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes II finds himself playing in Florida for the Super Bowl looking to improve his team’s record to 2-0. Should the Chiefs come out victorious, Patrick Mahomes II would first the player to collect 2 championships all while being age 25.

One thing is for certain, this matchup will be a story for the history books, something 9 year-old Patrick Mahomes II could have never predicted.
