Orlando City loses to FC Dallas in scrimmage 1-0

Benji Michel

KISSIMMEE, FL – Orlando City SC lost to FC Dallas 1-0 in a preseason scrimmage at Osceola Heritage Park this morning in front of Fns for the first time.

The Lions, who have been revamped from toe 2021 squad, are lead by striker Ben Michel, managed to get some great chances, but just could not put one in in this practice-like atmosphere.

Dallas managed to get the games only goal on a converted corner kick. Unfortunately we, the press, could not see who eventually put it in for FCD due to the scrum.

Orlando’s 2022 rooster is without stalwarts Chris Mueller, Nani, among other, and is now lead by Michel, with Alexandre Pato, and recent additions Ersan Kara, and new player Thomas Williams.

Williams was a strong standout in the scrimmage today. He’s a strong defender with intimidating height and size. He was good with either foot and will definitely be someone to watch this season.

Kara appeared to injure his leg just before the half and needed to be helped off the field. He tried to walk, but didn’t put any pressure on his leg, not a good sign.

Orlando City next faces the Colorado Rapids on February 11th at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, FL.
