Delta bringing back free meals on coast-to-coast flights

Free food service is coming back to the skies, thanks to Delta Airlines.

Flights between New York’s JFK Airport and Los Angeles and Portland will get free meals starting on March 1. And flights between JFK and Portland, San Diego, and Seattle will get the free meals starting on April 24, officials said.

Delta will now be the only airline to offer free meals for all passengers on transcontinental flights. Most airlines ditched their free meals on flights within the country years ago, and some even got rid of free snacks.

The company decided to bring meals back after it surveyed passengers last year and found that customer satisfaction jumped when they were fed.
