Armed Man Takes Hostages In Kosher Grocery Store In Paris

SWAT teams are at the scene of a grocery store in eastern Paris, where a a gunman opened fire and has taken several hostages. AFP reported that at least two have been killed, but France’s Interior Ministry has denied the report. AP reports a police official saying that the suspect “appears linked” to Wednesday’s deadly attacks on the newspaper Charlie Hebdo.

A police official told the Associated Press that a man opened fire in the market and declared “you know who I am.” The assailant is believed to be a suspect in yesterday’s killing of a policewoman on the southern edge of Paris. On Thursday, police released a photo of Amedy Coulibaly, the suspect in that shooting, as well as his accomplice, Hayet Boumddiene.
