Avocados can lower your cholesterol

By Deirnesa Jefferson

You’ve heard the phrase an apple a day keeps the doctor away, but according to a new study an avocado a day can lower your cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. According to a study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association, the fruit which is high in healthy fats and nutrients can work to lower cholesterol within weeks. Just like olive oil and nuts, avocados have plaque-busting monounsaturated fatty acids, and the effects seem similar to all the benefits from a Mediterranean diet, researchers said.

Avocados are commonly associated with guacamole but they can be used in a variety of different recipes. It’s not difficult to integrate avocados into your diet and receive the great health benefits that they have to offer.

Here a few  of simple recipes that you can try at home!
