Orlando Magic Face Tough Path To Playoffs

The Orlando Magic can say one thing about this season, they definitely have improved. After a dreadful 23-59 record last season, they are currently 26-32 and 4 games back in the playoff hunt.

After a dazzling game against the Philadelphia 76ers where the Magic scored 77 on them in the first half, had a cushy 29 point lead at one point, Aaron Gordon soared with amazing dunks, and Victor Oladipo and Nic Vucevic scored 28 points each, The boys couldn’t make any stops on defense. Philly shot 53.2 percent from the field and totaled 58 points in the paint. The Sixers also attempted 37 free throws. It was the second straight game and ninth time this season an opponent of the Magic took 30 or more foul shots.

The Magic are about to take on the injury riddled Chicago Bulls, and still have to face Golden State (In Oakland), Cleveland, Memphis, and the Miami Heat (3 times). Without defensive improvement, these veteran teams will take advantage of the holes in and make for some very long night for the Magic.

On the bright side, C.J. Watson and Brandon jennings bring much needed speed and experience to the Magic lineup, and Ehsan Ilyasova is giving them another solid shooting option.

The Magic Face the Dallas Mavericks tonight at 8:30 eat in Dallas.
