The World Mourns The Death Of Prince

Music legend and icon Prince passed away yesterday at his Paisley Park complex. He was 57. The world mourned the death of one one music’s most prolific performers.

call23n-1-webIn downtown Minneapolis, thousands off fans gathered outside of the club First Avenue, made famous by Prince’s now famous movie Purple Rain. As music played through the speakers, the thousands that gathered sang along with Prince’s hit “Purple Rain” and other songs. First Avenue threw an all night dance party inside the club and announced that further parties would continue as a tribute to the singer.

imrs.phpHundreds gathered and left flowers outside of his Paisley Park complex in Chanhassen, MN as a memorial to him. Prince’s sister Tyka Nelson visited the crowd and hugged and thanked well wishers for their support. There has been a non stop stream of fans visiting the site.

 

13015565_10154126524594819_7382367153250465591_nIn Brooklyn, NY, film maker Spike Lee invited fans to celebrate Prince’s life with a dance part outside of his 40 Acre And A Mule offices in the Ft Greene section of Brooklyn. Thousand’s showed up and danced and partied to Prince music.The Roots band leader        ?uestlove held an all price party in which he played all prince music at the Broadway bowl in Brooklyn.

 

 

maxresdefault-2Singer Jennifer Hudson led the cast of “The Color Purple” in a stirring rendition of “Purple Rain” at the end of a performance on Broadway. The Cast of Hamilton ended last night’s performance by dancing to the same legendary song.

300_eiffel_tower_purple_042216Iconic locations around the world such as the Empire State Building in New York, the Eiffel Tower in Paris,  The Louisiana Superdome, Niagara Falls, The Sidney Harbor Bridge, and many more were adorned in purple in honor of Prince.
