The Florida State Seminoles have more ups and downs than a latin Soap opera. The latest ‘telenovella’ starts with the Seminoles being ranked #4 by the AP College Football poll, showing strong expectations for the ACC powerhouse.
But then…Noles redshirt senior Sean Maguire broke a bone in his right foot on the second day of practice, leaving coach Jimbo Fisher to turn to highly touted four-star freshman quarterback Malik Henry.
In a disappointing development for Noles fans, Henry has been suspended for “violation of team rules” head coach Jimbo Fisher said Saturday after practice. The specific reason for his suspension unknown and for an undetermined length of time, leaving the Noles to start Deondre Francois, who dueled it out with Henry in the FSU Spring Practice.
Henry’s suspension is a blow to FSU’s QB depth as the Noles have only redshirt sophomore J.J. Cosentino and walk-on Jake Rizzo, a Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas standout, as the only backup
s quarterbacks in practice.
