Orlando Pride players Alana Kennedy and Caitlin Foord taken in expansion draft

Racing Louisville SC has selected Alana Kennedy and Caitlin Foord in the NWSL expansion draft Thursday night.

Kennedy was selected in the sixth round, while Ford was taken with the ninth overall pick.

Kennedy has been with the Pride since 2017, and has played a key role with the team. She participated in the teams first postseason run in that year. She also played for the Australian National team and that has limited her availability such as in 2019, including being absent in 2020 after not returning to the team for the NWSL cup.

Orlando acquired Foord’s rights ahead of the 2020 season in a trade with the Portland Thorns that also included Emily Sonnett. However, Foord never played for the Pride after leaving the NWSL for Arsenal in the FA WSL this year.
