Orlando City forward Yoshimar Yotun has been suspended one additional game and fined an undisclosed amount for a red card incident in Orlando’s match against the New England Revolution on Saturday.

The MLS Disciplinary Committee ruled on Friday that Yotun’s actions against Revs’ defender Jalil Anibaba was worth more that one game suspension as video review revealed that Yotun put his hand on the throat of Anibaba. Yotun was carded in the either minute of stoppage time in the game.

The acton will cause Yotun to not only miss the Lion’s match tomorrow at DC United, but also miss a critical home game against Atlanta United FC in Orlando on August 24th.

It’s ironic that Yotun is in this incident, as he just returned from Atlanta where he represented Orlando City in the MLS All-star game.

In addition, both the Revolution and Orlando City have were found in violation of the league’s Mass Confrontation Policy. Orlando City SC and coach James O’Connor were fined for the Lions’ third violation of the policy — the second under O’Connor — and New England was issued a warning for the club’s first violation.
