Brazilian Soccer club Flamengo took home the 2019 Florida Cup trophy Saturday night with a 1-0 win over German club Eintracht Frankfurt at Orlando City Stadium in front of a crowd of 14,500.

Flamengo was given an early advantage when Eintracht captain David Abraham was issued a straight red card for a hands-to-the-face challenge on Robert Piris Da Motta in the 25th minute.

With Frankfurt playing down a man, Flamengo capitalized. Jean Lucas gave the Brazilian side a 1-0 lead by tucking the ball past goalkeeper Kevin Trapp in the 40th minute.

Flamengo had some close to scoring again in the 80th minute when a through-ball from Diego Ribas found Willian Arao, who struck the ball over the crossbar.

After the intermission, the Flamengo had a number of chances to increase their lead but failed to make them count.

Even with misses from Vitinho and Éverton in the final five minutes, Flamengo still finished winners in the match and the short pre-season tournament.

Ajax finished in second place with four points. Frankfurt finished in third place on three points. São Paulo did not score and did not earn a point.
