Orlando Magic continue to impress with 114-97 win over the Phoenix Suns

ORLANDO, FL – The Orlando Magic beat the Phoenix Suns 114-97 on Friday night in front of a sellout crowd.

The Magic, still battling an injury plagued beginning of the season, played without the services of Paolo Banchero and Kevon Harris, while the Suns had to rough it out without their leader, Chris Paul, and a key front man Jae Crowder.

Wendell Carter Jr stepped up is game and got a double double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Bol Bol also was key in the game with 17 points and 15 rebounds. Franz Wagner also contributed 17 points in the game.

Phoenix was lead by Cameron Payne with 22 points  as well as superstar Devin Booke who the Magic held to 17 points.

Orlando dominated in rebounds 50-38, and managed to keep their turnovers down to 15, which is good for the Magic. With all five starters in double digits in coin, it was trill a shared effort.

“I just loved our ability to do it by committee,” coach Jamahl Mosley said after Friday’s game. “We’ve talked about that from the beginning of the year. Guys willing to step up and when their number is called, they are ready to go.

“Talking in the locker room, guys talk about let’s go get the rim. I think we are going to continue to focus on winning quarters, winning possessions. As you add those things up, you get those results at the end that you are striving for. It is the little plays you want to end up dominating.”

The Magic next face the Charlotte Hornets at the Amway Center on Monday November 14th.
